Commander 3 Joystick Interface
Bud Computers' Joystick Interface In Its Box (Front)
"Save your keyboard and enjoy your games much more with Commander 3 Joystick Interface from Bud Computers. This interface allows the use of any Atari-type switched joystick."

- Bud Computers, Back Inlay, 1983

What It Does

The Commander 3 Joystick Interface is a 10cm x 7cm x 2cm creme coloured interface which plugs into the back of the unexpanded Acorn Electron computer. It needs a compatible 'switched-type' joystick and also the tape-based program Joystick Programming Utility. The interface connects to both Electron and joystick and the cassette must then be loaded before the game you wish to play with a joystick. This procedure allows about 50% of games that originally do not have joystick-compatibility to be used with one.

Features

The Commander 3 Joystick Interface boasts the following on its back sleeve:

*&FCC0 standard Joystick memory position
*Includes software utility for maximum games compatibility
*Custom-made case
*Fully compatible with Auto-fire joysticks
*18 months guarantee

The Commander 3 Joystick Interface is not a rare interface and was originally available in computer stores up and down the country for around £10-£15. A second hand Commander 3 Joystick Interface with utility cassette will usually sell on eBay for around £3.
