SLOGGER 32K SIDEWAYS RAM CARTRIDGE
Slogger's 32K Sideways RAM Cartridge
"The Slogger 32K Sideways RAM Cartridge enables either a Rombox+ or a Plus 1 cartridge port to act as two full 16K pages of Sideways RAM."

- Product Specification, Slogger, 1986

What It Does

Slogger's 32K Sideways RAM Cartridge is a 9cm x 7cm x 1.5cm creme coloured interface, the same size as an Acornsoft ROM cartridge. It connects only to an Acorn Electron computer equipped with an expansion unit (e.g. an Acorn Plus 1, an AP1 or a Rombox+). The cartridge needs to be used with the software on the Electron Expansion 2.0 ROM, also by Slogger.

The cartridge contains two banks of 16K, which can be configured (a) as two 16K ROM images (by loading ROM images from discs into them), (b) as one 16K ROM image and a 16K printer buffer or (c) as a 32K printer buffer. The blue switch protruding from the top is a Write Protect switch which, when set, will make no further changes to the information held within it.

The 32K Sideways RAM Cartridge cartridge was originally available by mail order only for £21.95. It was soon discontinued as the ACP/Pres upgrades of the AP6 and AP7 were much 'neater' and left the cartridge slots of the expansion unit free. A second hand 32K Sideways RAM Cartridge on eBay has never been seen. An educated guess at a closing price would be around £10-£25.
