Boot Bargain 02

In addition to myself, my father-in-law, brother-in-law and daughter also have Electrons (my wife lets the side down as she has a 386 PC). We go looking for Electrons and/or add-ons at Boot Fairs and so far the cheapest we have obtained was one for £3 - it only needed cleaning up.

I am into Adventure Games and Wargames and have found that most of the BBC games run on my 64K Elk. For convenience I transfer the tape games to disk using ADT's XFER utility. Being BBC, most of them are run in DFS Mode 7.

For serious work (conservation and school governorship) I use Starword, Starspell and Starstore and have no real problems although it must be said that the 'sort' facility in Starstore can take hours when you are sorting in the region of 500 or more.

My present equipment is 64K Electron, AP2/3/4/5, 3.5" and 5.25" drives (ADFS/DFS), ABRs, printer, twin joysticks, tape recorder, a myriad of ROM images (Elk/BBC) and an EPROMmer/Eraser.

Oh happy Electroning - long may it continue!
