MUSHROOM CENTRONICS PRINTER INTERFACE & USER PORT |
What It Does
The Centronics Printer Interface & User Port is a 8cm x 11.5cm x 1.5cm creme coloured interface which plugs into the back of the unexpanded Acorn Electron computer. It evidently needs its own custom software, supplied with the interface, to be used. Further documentation is currently unavailable as the interface we currently have is missing any information.
Artwork And Images
The outer box and pictures of the interface itself are shown below. There is currently no emulated version of this interface available.

It is difficult to judge whether or not the Centronics Printer Interface & User Port is a rare interface. Rarity tends to command high prices on auction sites such as eBay. However, the Centronics printer interface is included as standard on the Acorn Plus 1, the AP1 and the Rombox+. Similarly, no Acorn Electron hardware was ever developed to take advantage of the user port. Third party manufacturers' devices like this one, with no obvious purpose, generally have little market. If one is featured on eBay, it will be unlikely to get bids of more than £10.
