General Playing Hints:
You must drink and eat regularly to keep your strength U, if you are strong you can kill the Pixies and the Woodcutter without a weapon. SAVE the GAME after any major success, it is a very frustrating game!!! close doors etc after you. It prevents your helpers from straying too far away. If the helpers go in a different direction to the one you want, WAIT for them to reappear. If interactive characters are unhelpful, keep on at them to do what you want - they usually do it in the end. The COPY key repeats the last command, which is very useful when requesting the characters to do something.
In The Garden:
TAKE ROD, CAST ROD, FISH, OPEN DOOR, S into a long passageway in a small house. EXAMINE the PICTURE to reveal an orchestra with conductor and violinist. Go W to the front room and OPEN CUPBOARD. TAKE BATTERY. E and then S. OPEN SIDEBOARD. TAKE SANDWICH. EAT SANDWICH. OPEN DOOR.
E, OPEN ROBOT, PUT BATTERY IN ROBOT. Go W then N and N again. CLOSE DOOR. OPEN GATE. E, N, N, E, E, E, OPEN CURTAIN. S. CLOSE CURTAIN. TAKE FOOD AND EAT IT.
SAY TO ROBOT "OPEN MANHOLE". Typically you will be told 'The toy robot ignores you' but finally, if you ask him enough times, he will open the manhole allowing you to proceed.
In A Complex Of Dark Caves:
Food can be a bit random in the caves so watch out for it !!! In Dimly Lit Caves:
Watch out for food which is a bit random, W, N, W, TAKE FOOD, E, S, W, W, KNOCK ON BROWN DOOR, WAIT (until it is unlocked), OPEN DOOR, TAKE RUSTY KEY (from the librarian), N, EXAMINE PANEL (You may need the librarian present), PRESS BUTTON, N, EXAMINE DOOR, S, TAKE VIOLIN, S, CLOSE DOOR, E, E, SW, S, SAY TO BORIS "PULL LEVEL", OPEN CHEST WITH RUSTY KEY, TAKE WINE, DRINK IT, TAKE BATON, TAKE GREEN BOOK, TAKE SILVER KEY, N, N, NW, W, W, W, HIT TRAPDOOR WITH BATON (until the trapdoor is broken), D, D, NE, SE, UNLOCK DOOR WITH SILVER KEY, OPEN DOOR, UP (When you meet the woodcutter, KILL WOODCUTTER.
