Introduction

The ELECTRON ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE COURSE contains a complete course with text and software.

The Book

This step-by-step text introduces the real beginner to 6502 programming in a now well-proven way that has been described by the critics as "worth its weight in gold". No prior knowledge is assumed and the aim in the early chapters is to ensure that every reader really succeeds. Once the basis is established, the pace of the book quickens as the exciting advanture into the world of machine code develops. By the end of the book the whole 6502 instruction set has been covered, leaving the reader free to explore the application of 6502 machine-code. Numerous examples illustrate the points while exercises (along with solutions) test the understanding.

The Software

  1. A full disassembler that will disassemble code anywhere in the computer's memory. This takes a machine code program and turns it into more understandable Assembly Language.
  2. Binary/BCD/Hexadecimal tutor teaches the user about various mathematical notations used in machine code programming.
  3. Binary/BCD/Hexadecimal Exercise
A series of exercises in changing number from one base to another - gives some powerful help when needed
  4. Search utility
An assembly language program that searches through specified memory to find either numeric or literal string as specified. Demonstrates use of techniques developed in text.
